The Auditorium gets a Facelift!

Before we take a look at what's happening inside the auditorium, it's not too late to buy one of the new chairs.   For $100, you get a chair with a name plaque and a tax receipt for a charitable donation. What a great gift for your favourite Cawthra student! - or for anyone else who has enjoyed a show in this facility!

Hey! where are the chairs???


First the seats and backs are removed.


Then it's time for the drill!

The arm rests are drilled out!


Last, the bolts holding the struts are removed from the concrete.

Then all the pieces have to get hauled away...


... until there are only a few bolts left on the risers.

The carpet is also being replaced.


It is ripped off by hand, but first ...


the glue holding it to the cement floor is loosened with a machine.


Meanwhile, there is a lot of metal to cart out to the dumpster.
