Teachers Reading aloud to Students
[Authors in the Auditorium] [Teacher Readers] [Chapters Fundraiser] [Favourite Character Day] [Harry Potter Day] [Teacher Book Picks] [Students Reading - you need the special username/password to see the students]

Every lunch hour, all week, teachers read aloud to
students.
Ms. Grupp kicked off the read-aloud sessions and Mr. Powers came
out of retirement to read!

Ms. Towe shared the reading time with Mr. Powers during second
lunch.

On Tuesday, Mr. Kunder introduced the students to fantasy fiction
and J.R. terrified them with fantastic non-fiction!

For second lunch, Mother Goose (a.k.a. Ms. Svatos) read some "revolting
rhymes" by Raold Dahl.

On Wednesday, Ms. Watson, Ms. Fitzpatrick and Mr. Ball teamed
up to read from The Hours, complete with flowers!
During second lunch, a very pregnant Ms. Kirby-McIntosh shared
some children's books with the students.

Ms. Laverty joined her and the two of them had the students very
engaged!

Thursday was Harry Potter day and Harry (a.k.a. Mr. Pettigrew)
read aloud from his favourite book,
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.

Mr. Kunder returned to read a selection from Kenneth Oppel's Silverwing.

On Friday, Mr. Davey-Palias entertained the students by reading
a selection from his favourite novel, A Prayer for Owen Meanie.
He was followed by Mr. Kunder who read from The Skin of
a Lion, which is set in Toronto.

Ms. Evans thought she was scheduled to read, but it was Ms. Evans,
Cawthra's former Artistic Director, who read.

It was good to visit with former colleagues .....

and talk about books!

Teachers read from 11:45 to 12:15 and again from 1:00 to 1:30
daily in the library during UROC week.
