Ms. Graham's Physics students have been building boats.
These boats are powered by elastic bands.
They will be assessed on velocity, displacement and consistency.
And what better place to test a boat than in a pool of water!
Students vie for the Number 1 position!
There are several designs ... and lots of last-minute adjustments.
Some boat-builders aren't too confident in their product.
Boats are scooped back to shore.
The boat must travel a minimum of 2 metres in 30 seconds.
Some boats in this class can travel for 20 metres!
Time and distance are measured for each trial.
Here goes!
Yes! ... it's going to go the distance!!
