Staying afloat in Mr. Chute's Design class

[Page 1] [Page 2]

When the rider falls out, the boat is pushed to the side so the paddler can climb back in.

He's still paddling!

Look at those paddles ... there's a spare set! Now that's planning.

This boat has great looks but, sadly, a faulty design.

Simple but very functional.

And they're off .... or rather "in!"

The keel is proving its worth.

Slow but steady.

I'm winning!!!!

Best time overall!

Champions!

Gracious in defeat.

Final trials of the boats that won the earlier heats.

Oh dear ... the cardboard has become waterlogged.

Jack is now riding on his and Andrew's boat!

Another boat submerges into becoming a submarine but still the paddler goes on!

I'm definitely sinking!!!

Going down.

Well ... so it's a sub with a keel! ... only half a length to go.

And here's Jack at the finish line ... the guy who refused to quit!

Hey ... it's worth getting wet for.

Grand champions

The Grade 9 class also designed boats.  Mr. Chute took pictures of those races.
Ms. Dussiaume was there and said those races were excellent!
