Cawthra Park Music Department
Music Ensembles!
Our department has a wide variety of performing ensembles including concert bands, vocal groups and jazz ensembles. There are twelve groups in total, described below.
Intermediate Concert Band
This group is made up of one hundred instrumental students in grades nine and ten. It meets once a week and fills room 108 with it's mighty sounds. It is conducted by Mr. Andrew Jones.
Intermediate Girls Choir 
This choral group is conducted by Ms. Jody Malone and meets once a week in the auditorium. It has over one hundred singers and performs often in the community.
Momentum 
Here is our junior level jazz band, conducted by Mrs. Joyce Wilson and Mrs. Linda Thornton. The swinging group meets every Thursday afternoon.
Jazz a Peel 
This is the junior level vocal jazz group, conducted by Mrs. S. Collins. The 'hip' group meets every Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Concert Band 
Our senior band is comprised of 75 instrumental performers from grades 10 to 12. The wonderful ensemble meets once a week, every Tuesday afternoon and is conducted by Mr. Kevin Little.
Senior Wind Ensemble 
This senior instrumental group is a repertoire class with auditioned members drawn from the Senior Band. The excellent ensemble is conducted by Mr. Little.
Les Belles Classiques 
This SSA group is a repertoire class made up of senior female singers. Mrs. Collins works with them twice a week making ethereal sounds in room 108!
Tranzzit 
Tranzzit is a senior vocal jazz group conducted by Ms. Malone. The swinging ensemble gigs often in our community. Tranzzit is one of our repertoire classes.
Jazz Lab 
Our senior instrumental jazz band is one groovy group. It meets twice a week and is one of our repertoire classes. The terrific ensemble is led by Mr. Jones.
Brass Ensemble
This is our newest ensemble! It meets every Friday morning and performs only the best repertoire for brass choir. The slippery group is led by Mr. Jones.
Chamber Choir 
This fine choral ensemble meets once a week to work on difficult vocal repertoire. This repertoire class is conducted by Mr. Bob Anderson.
the Ritz 
The Ritz is our mass choir of over 300 singers, from all grades and departments at Cawthra Park. This legendary ensemble is conducted by the amazing Mr. Anderson!
Here is our pop/rock group made up of 6 vocalists, guitar, piano, bass and drums. The energetic band is very busy performing in our community and is conducted by shy Mr. Little.
