You must give credit to authors for their words, ideas, and research. Endnoting is one format for giving credit. Endnotes appear at the end of the document or report where a quote, summary, or idea is written.  When using endnotes, the writer must include an alphabetized bibliography at the end of the research paper that lists all works cited or consulted for the report or essay. The bibliography must be in alphabetical order by author. The rules for endnotes are as follows:

·        When you write a quote, summary, or idea from another source in your paper, place a superscripted number following the writing. For quotations, the number should immediately follow the quotation as follows:

Eventually they have no leverage for dissent and anyway, “dissenters are ruthlessly murdered.”[1]

For ideas, paraphrased, or summarized information, the number should appear at the end of the paragraph.

Each of the commandments made for the foundation of Animalism has been altered.  The whole society had become tyrannical. Those is charge were given far more status and privilege than the work force.[2]

·         For each item you source in the body of your report, place a note with the same number in the Endnote page at the end of your report. Single space the notes. Number the notes consecutively throughout the whole report starting at 1.  [3]Superscript (slightly raise) the numbers in the endnote.
