This ïs an excellent example of a descriptive paragraph. Not
only does it use descriptive vocabulary but it also demonstrates
a unifying mood. The mood is romantic and flowery - indicative and
connected to the thoughtful title "The Flower of Verona".
Furthermore this piece is well connected to the actual content of
Romeo and Juliet and displays evidence of thorough research.

Notes:
Notes are used to plan the
paragraph. Potential titles/themes for the paragraph are listed.
Following, the student uses a brainstorming web to further organize
the content of her paragraph. |
 |
Graphic Organizer
A web is used to organize "beauty",
the theme, into categories by physical attributes. Within each,
the student records points that will help her write the paragraph.
Note that the student reminds herself to use metaphors or similies. |
 |
Written Draft
After organizing her ideas,
the student created a written draft. Changes were noted before she
started her typed draft(not shown). The typed draft encorporated
the revisions from the draft to the left. Even the typed draft was
revised and edited before being submitted to the teacher for marking. |
