Fall Musical – 'Cabaret'

It is Berlin at the end of the twenties, and while the city revels in hedonistic pursuits, the people are blind to the dark political force that is on the rise. Lives, loves and friendships change in this entertaining musical with a dark edge. From the same writing duo who brought you Chicago, don't miss Kander and Ebb's Cabaret. Please note: Due to some mature themes, parental discretion is advised.
 
Music Concert - 'Tis the Season
December 12 & 13, 2007 7:00p.m. $10
Due to the popular demand of this event, we will host our concert over two nights again this year! A wonderful collection of holiday music will be performed for all to enjoy. From concert bands to choirs, classical and jazz, this seasonal spectacular cannot be missed!
 
Sears Prefest
February 12 & 13, 2008 7:00p.m. $5 or $8 for 2 days
This showcase of four student-directed one-act plays features two evenings of entertainment. A total of four plays are produced, each of which has been proposed, polished and presented by student actors, stage managers and directors. Two plays are ultimately selected by a professional adjudicator to continue on to the Sears Ontario One-Act Play Festival.
 
Sears Festival
February 20 & 21, 2008 7:00p.m. $8 festival pass
The 60th Sears One-Act Play Festival celebrates student achievement in all aspects of theatre. In this district, twelve evenings of theatre are hosted by various schools. Cawthra hosts two evenings of one-act plays in which four other Peel schools participate. Each play is professionally adjudicated. Many of the works featured are student-written and student-directed.

The Cawthra Park Music Department produces this school-wide talent show. Directed and produced by the grade 12 music class, this show promises to be both innovative and entertaining.

All Cawthra concert choirs perform at Eden United Church. Please bring a food or cash donation in support of the Eden Food Bank
 
Springfest Dance Showcase

This showcase of excellence is the culmination of the year's class work. All styles and techniques will be presented and all levels will perform works by faculty and guest choreographers. Come and join us for a special evening of dance.
 

TheatreWorks
April 24, 25 & 26, 2008 7:00p.m. $10
Theatre Works mounts socially relevant theatre; contemporary interpretations of classic pieces, current Canadian works or collective creations. Be sure not to miss this year's dramatic presentation!
 
Springfest Music Showcase
Thursday, May 1, 2008 7:00p.m. $10
This showcase concert will present the culmination of all ensembles' work throughout the school year. Concert bands, concert choirs, jazz bands and jazz choirs as well as a special solo will be featured. The evening should be enjoyable for all ages and tastes.
 
Springfest Drama: Absurd Theatre
Thursday, May 8, 2008 7:00p.m. $5
The graduating drama class will present a number of expressionistic scenes dispersed around the entire school. The students will focus on the symbolic and thematic undercurrents in a given scene and express them in set, lighting, costume and characterization. Audiences too will explore, moving to the various scenes around Cawthra.

Springfest Visual Arts Showcase
Thursday, May 15, 2008 7:00 - 9:00p.m. Free

Visual arts students often exhibit their work around the building. In May, a major collection of artwork is shown throughout the school. The Springfest opening is the highlight of the year in Visual Arts, with exciting works including installations, video, performance and edible art available after hours. Most student artists will be present with their works.
 

Mosaix (Dance)

Mosaix is a grade 12 dance project involving over 150 students. It's an exciting, innovative and emotional evening where graduating dance students get one last chance at showcasing their choreographic and performing skills.
 
Cawthra Park Dance Repertoire Ensemble

The Repertoire Ensemble is a group of highly motivated students who participated in our resident dance company. The company repertoire includes a variety of pieces choreographed by guest artists, faculty members and senior students. Come and enjoy the best kept secret in Mississauga!
Animation Festival

The 2nd Annual student animation contest showcases work from students across four school secondary school boards - Peel, Halton, Toronto and York Region and is sponsored by a variety of animation industry companies and colleges. Work from 5 categories - Flash Narrative, Flash non-narrative, Stop-motion, Mixed Media and Music Videos are screened during the evening and awards given to the top entries during an exciting evening of entertainment where the community, the the industry and students come to celebrate their creativity.
